If you did not know, this is not my day job. Shocked, right? (I hear the chuckles.) I have been in sales all of my adult life, most of which has been spent in Technology. For the last 12 years I have been focused in the Channel…. Which means I manage and support partner relationships. More simply…. I help partners sell stuff so they can add value to what they already do.
This is my sweet spot. I enjoy what I do. All that said…. I like to be challenged. My work does this, but, after doing it as long as I have….. I’ve kind of got it mastered. I don’t believe I know it all. Nope. I am always a work in progress but I can also say confidently that I am good at what I do. Every now and then a new project or partner is assigned to me and I dive right in. However lately I have felt like I was searching for something else. Something all me, something I can own and be accountable to but also utilizes my skills.
My epiphany resulted in both my website and a product I started using called MONAT. Hair stuff… really? Came out of left field but I LOVE this stuff and I found I was talking about it alot. It was not just because of what it did for my hair and how it made me feel…. But because it stood for something too. Jackpot.

My point here? It’s not just about the hair, the product, or the end result. I have realized I needed something to sink my teeth into. A “something” that I am passionate about that also energizes me. I love being energized and inspired. It literally fuels me. Reality check….. five years ago I would have sai NO WAY do I have the time? What if this, what if that, WHAT IF???? Then the realization - who has the time for all that overthinking? If I feel it in my gut I go for it. A little something to do with “surrendering.” Yet another topic I will cover in a later blog.
When your hair feels and looks good, you feel good. It’s pretty simple. I get to help people enjoy clean, beautiful hair and feel good about themselves. And sometimes someone else takes advantage of the business opportunity like I did and that allows me to directly impact their lives. Call me selfish…. I like that a heck of a lot.
I encourage you to find that “something.” It’s probably right under your nose. Maybe it’s that one thing you pushed away a while ago because you were overthinking it. This adventure for me is really a hobby. Your “something” does not have to consume you, it can be whatever you want it to be. It’s your thing…. You make the rules.
If you had asked me a year ago if I would be passionate about hair products OR had a blog for that matter, I would have roared with laughter. (If you know me it’s really more of a loud obnoxious boisterous laugh….. but I digress). I don’t like high maintenance hair and rarely wear make-up. I work from home and wear workout clothes and flip flops most days. Does anyone see the irony?
