“Don’t waste time waiting for inspiration, begin and inspiration will find you.”
- H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Stop. Wasting. Time. Yeah, it sounds easier than it is but I can assure you when you “connect” with yourself and follow your heart it all falls into place. That brings me to the subject of finding inspiration. Sometimes we need a little nudge. I needed a good healthy kick in the butt, but that’s for another day.
Where do you find inspiration? I used to think it was hard to find but now I see it and feel it all around me. My children inspire me, the loyalty and love I receive from my dogs, my hubby's hysterically funny nature, and of course a beautiful sunny NC day. What gets me every time? Seeing people live their dreams and KILL IT.
Enter my “spirit” friend Audrey. She is a former teacher turned professional photographer. How? She got a camera. Pretty simple right? She started snapping some pics of landscapes and fur babies and she got INSPIRED and downright PASSIONATE! She had a vision and attacked it with a fierceness like I have never seen. She now has a very successful business called Rose Trail Images and she gets to do what she loves every single day while inspiring others like me. Lucky me.
Now I won’t dribble on too much about her and you can also check her out on my LOCAL FAVES page but….. She has a gift – just sayin. Her pictures are works of art and evoke such emotion. I personally am not comfortable in front of the camera but I actually have FUN when she is taking my pics. Who knew? She puts her clients at ease and doesn’t focus on getting the right pose but rather getting an authentic moment. The end result is a special memory that lasts a lifetime.
Lastly – she has a generous spirit. I called her recently as I was hosting my mother and her sisters at my house for their “sister weekend.” This was the first time they were getting together since we lost their Mom, my beloved Gram. It was going to be emotional and I wanted to do something special. I called Audrey rather last minute and explained. She did not hesitate and before I finished my vision she said, “I’m in.” It was such a special moment for all of us. We are all grateful to her. Now that’s inspiration.
I would love to hear from all of you on what inspires you. It’s different for all of us. I will continue to highlight people and things that inspire me..... Entrepreneurs like Audrey, people with inspiring stories of courage or who have overcome, and of course my personal hero’s. It is so important we celebrate ourselves and the ones we love, admire and adore that surround us.
As always, I am so very grateful. Thanks for listening!
